Very good price and good subcontractors, but poor project coordination.
Several issues around coordination:
1) Parts order
I got a list of vendors from Gary since I would order parts and his subcontractors would install. Very limiting compared to what you could get at Lowes or Home Depot; some of these vendors are expensive. But Gary passed us contractor discount so the net was still more economical.
2) Snafu with glass door
Quote was very basic. I ordered a glass door from a listed vendor who confirmed they commonly worked with Gary. When install time comes Gary says he never orders doors from that vendor..
3) Tile order
Very complicated and confused process with Daltile. We went there to look at tiles, but Gary had to place the order which took a while, and then I cold pay. I also confirmed the quantities with Gary and used his numbers, but when install happened they were still short of bullnose and had to rush buy Schluter instead.
4) Tile deco
The contractor struggled with the deco band, which was different from others they are used to. It was a different type where the backing paper fell apart and as a result had to be cut differently. This was a part from Daltile, from Gary’s list, and parts reviewed and ordered by Gary. Nevertheless I had to rush to Home Depot to buy another deco band, at my own cost, so that the project continued
5) Project timelines
When getting quotes I indicated to Gary I wanted the project finished before Thanksgiving and he said it was no problem. Instead the project started 3 weeks later than it should have (with slow replies from Gary about start date) and was finished December 15.

I am trying to revive my existing cabinets by changing hinges and possibly adding another 12″ row of cabinets on top. I have been having a difficult time to find a right professional to get it done. Gary took his time to listen to me and asked very good questions. He was able to make a couple of referrals and put me on the right path to find the right help. It is really appreciated. Gary removed a column / wall in my house to create open space. Gray arrive on time, assessed if it is structural or not and than gave us very competitive bid. We thought Gary was very professional and honest. Than he came on time with his worker, completed the job on time with high quality. I also had some small size electrical work and Gary offer to provide his electrician to work directly with me (instead of what other contractors would do – charge their 20% overhead!), because the work was relativity small. Now Gary is my to go contractor for all future work I would need!
